I have known the Koncul family for over 45 years. Therese and I were/are best friends and I spent a lot of time with her and her family over the years. I have great memories of riding down to the beach with her father on Sunday afternoons listening to "Paul Harvey", playing volleyball, and of course eating!! I didn't get to know Joe all that much, but I do remember him always smiling when he greeted me. I am sure Joe's parents are with him now and looking down on the amazing family they created. My prayer is for all of the Konculs to come together for the sake of their parents who were truly amazing people who always put family first. May Joe's memory be eternal.

Dear Catherine I was so very sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved brother. I know the love and support of your family sustains you and that our Lord will grant you His Peace. You were a living example of God's plea for us to love Him and love one another, as you generously and tirelessly cared for Joe. For him you were God's hands on Earth, surely there is a special place in Heaven for angels like you. I will continue to pray that God's will for you, be done. love Barb

My deepest condolences go out to your family, it's never easy losing a loved one. You might take comfort in God's promise found at Revelation 21:4 where he says "he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." This verse gave me some hope when I experienced loss, I pray it will do the same for you. May your warm memories also give you strength to endure this hard time.

- Jae Mckenzie , Savannah, GA

His eyes were indeed the window to his soul. As I sit here and recall all the fond memories on 41st, I remember all too well my friend Joe, on Saturday mornings , along with his brothers, washing cars, raking the lawn, or pruning bushes. You could read Joe through his eyes as it was obvious he was either happy or upset with the amount of chores he had left to do that had been assigned to him by one "Mr. Mike", aka his Dad. If one wasn't careful, the Koncul brothers would pull a Tom Sawyer on you and before you could say no, you had a rake or a sponge and put to work. Joe had a knack to spot you walking down the street and would have a rake readily available. To this day I'll never understand how Joe and his brothers managed to pull that off . I could write a book about 41st street, and devote a whole chapter to Joe. He was a good guy. My bet is he's found peace , until Mr. Mike locates him and puts him to work. Rest easy my friend. I will not forget you. John McCarthy
